The Solution
This first phase of an Amplifi-Qx installation requires a comprehensive site survey to assess the extent of the mobile signal coverage issues. This was carried out by our team of signal engineers and a final report was passed to the customer.
Amplifi-Qx Digital was selected for this project, and we used the new CEL-FI QUATRA 4000e mobile signal booster to power the solution. This is a high-performance cellular coverage solution that provides reliable and consistent cellular coverage throughout large buildings. The CEL-FI QUATRA 4000e is a scalable and flexible solution, capable of supporting multiple mobile networks.
Throughout the installation, the hotel remained fully accessible to the public. We made a conscious effort to minimise any disruption for guests of the hotel.
Our installation provided mobile signal to key spaces in the hotel, including employee areas such as kitchens and laundry rooms, as well as the bowling alley, spa, gym, and meeting rooms.
Initially, our client had not considered extending the signal to their own offices. However, after experiencing the improved quality of the signal in the basement levels, they decided to proceed with the extension. We were able to carry out the additional installation the very next day.
The Result
On completion of any installation we’ll always walk around the property to test the signal in various locations – comparing the boosted signal to the original signal readings.
Our Amplifi-Qx signal solution has enabled the hotel to support multiple carriers and technologies, ensuring that guests can use their preferred mobile service provider. The hotel’s mobile signal coverage needs have been met, resulting in a positive impact on guest satisfaction and the overall hotel experience.
We use professional signal testing equipment to take dBm readings (decibel milliwatts) – we then compare these to the pre-install readings to calculate the increase in mobile signal. A really good dBm reading will be somewhere between -70dBm and -90dBm … the closer to zero the better!
