The Problem
The elegant streets of Belgravia are lined with white rendered terraced townhouses, garden squares, international embassies, and upmarket hotels. Fine-dining restaurants and sophisticated cafes cater to the area’s wealthy international residents. But mobile signal is often a real problem in this part of the world.
We were contacted to help solve the mobile signal problem in a 2,200sqm residential property in the heart of Belgravia. This brick building was blocking the mobile signal and the ground, lower ground and basement floors were experiencing little to no coverage throughout. Our brief was to provide mobile signal for all networks.

HIGH END RESIDENTIAL TOWNHOUSE IN LONDON'S BELGRAVIA
mobile signal booster solution using cel-fi technology
The SOLUTION
Site survey stage
After providing the client with a desktop survey and an initial cost estimate, the next stage was for our signal experts to carry out a site visit. Our signal engineers surveyed the property and ran signal tests throughout the building.
The chosen solution
Our Amplifi-Qx Digital solution was selected for this project. This included a CEL-FI QUATRA 4000e Network Unit, a QUATRA 4000e Fibre Hub and 6 QUATRA 4000e Coverage Units. Additionally, 4 external SISO panel antennas were installed to the outside of the mews building.
The CEL-FI QUATRA 4000e is a multi-carrier active DAS hybrid for 3G/4G/5G voice and data and delivers mobile signal that is up to 1000x stronger.
Installation challenges
We were the first company in the UK to to install the CEL-FI QUATRA 4000e Fibre Hub and we are pleased to say that the installation was a huge success.

Signal reading comparison
We use professional signal testing equipment to take dBm readings (decibel milliwatts) – we then compare these to the pre-install readings to calculate the increase in mobile signal. A really good dBm reading will be somewhere between -70dBm and -90dBm … the closer to zero the better!
